Legislative Efforts

One of our missions is to advocate for stronger anti-human trafficking legislation on a federal and state level.

Without legislative advocacy, the various passages of Safe Harbor laws in states across the country would never have happened. (These laws prevent victims of child sex trafficking from being arrested for prostitution, and instead, provide services for them.)

Without legislative advocacy, the Trafficking Victims Protection Act and the Justice for Trafficking Victims Act would have never made it to the books.

And though the movement has had pretty solid wins, there is still more work to do.
