Steve Jobs once said “It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”

If you’re interested in joining the fight, you can give your time to the abolition movement by volunteering! We need volunteers of all ages, genders, and talents to help with our prevention efforts. Our volunteers have done things like running fair trade tables at events, speaking to groups, and representing the organization at community events. Whatever you’re passionate about, we can find a way to use your talents for the cause.

Office Assistant Volunteer:

Are you organized and passionate about helping the community? Then consider NC Stop Human Trafficking’s Office Assistant Volunteer position. As an Office Assistant Volunteer you will file documents, help with the Fair Trade item database, catalog inventory, make phone calls, and manage our contact list. You will assist with the day-to-day functioning of our nonprofit. There is a one-week training period with NCSHT staff at our office. Must possess organization, punctuality, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn new tasks. Knowledge of Quickbooks is helpful, but not required. Flexible hours but volunteer must provide own transportation to and from main office.

Public Speaking Volunteer:

Do you love having your voice heard? Do you enjoy making a positive impact on your community and educating others? Then consider NC Stop Human Trafficking’s Public Speaking Volunteer position. As a volunteer, you will help lead community engagement events which include but are not limited to church trainings, hotel trainings, and other community training programs. Public Speaking Volunteers are actively giving back to the community through education efforts. They are making the world a more informed place and are learning the skills necessary to take action to end human trafficking in our lifetime. There is a volunteer training period of two weeks in which you will attend trainings and engagements with an NCSHT employee who will be leading the events. During the first speaking engagement, an NCSHTN employee will be present for support and to help answer any questions. Hours are flexible but volunteer must provide own transportation to and from main office and training sites.

Fundraising Volunteer:

Are you creative and passionate? Do you enjoy using your gifts to help with the efforts of others? Then NC Stop Human Trafficking’s Fundraising Volunteer position may be for you! As a Fundraising Volunteer you will assist with planning and implementing fundraisers. After the initial training period of two weeks, there is the option to plan and lead your own fundraiser (with ongoing support from NCSHT staff). Must possess organization, punctuality, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn new tasks. Flexible hours but volunteer must provide own transportation to and from main office and fundraising sites.

Events Volunteer:

Are you passionate about ending human trafficking in our lifetime but our other volunteer descriptions just are not a good match? Do you love legislation and talking with legislators? Do you enjoy making educational YouTube videos and/or writing informative articles? Do you love creating special projects and community events and seeing them through? Are you creative and able to reason critically while having fun? Then contact us today about creating a volunteer position that matches your special set of skills today! Volunteers are actively giving back to the community through their efforts. They are making the world a more informed place and are learning the skills necessary to take action to end human trafficking in our lifetime.
